You walk into Phat Boy Sushi on South Federal Highway, and the first thing you learn is that Delray Beach has an opinion about its raw fish, and it’s not shy about it. The yellowtail jalapeño alone justifies dodging Atlantic Avenue traffic on a Saturday.

But here’s the range: this is a town where you can grab a coconut ramen that hits like a warm, spicy secret, then turn around and watch a server fix a chilly booth before your water even arrives. That kind of move builds trust.

So when you’re ready to eat your way through the best sushi in Delray, start here.

Great for dates or families

I walked into Phat Boy Sushi, Kitchen & Bar on South Federal Highway with a plan and an empty stomach. The place was humming. A booth near the window looked perfect until I sat down and felt the cold creep in. I flagged a server, and the chilly spot was fixed before my water arrived. That alone earns respect. But the food did the real talking. The coconut ramen arrived like a warm hug with a spicy secret. The crunchy tuna showed up next, all texture and pop. Then the yellowtail jalapeño hit the table. Wow. That dish is worth the drive from anywhere. Dates, families, solo diners, everyone fits here. It works for dine-in or delivery. I left full, warm, and already planning my return.
